For those who can travel outside the summer, autumn is probably the best time of year. September and October are still high season for safaris in East and Southern Africa, with wildlife gathered around the water.
In Asia, autumn colours arrive in Japan and the rains end across much of Southeast Asia. And in the southern hemisphere spring begins: South Africa, Argentina or Chile open their best season.
